Laser Marking Equipment

Using a high precision laser beam a permanent mark is applied to most materials including metal and plastic.

With the affiliated software there are no limits to the mark you can create. Our laser marking systems are ideally suited to automated marking such as serial numbers, Data Matrix codes etc.

Typical application areas :

The following results can be obtained with our laser machines :

Engraving

A groove is etched into the component. The material is vaporised in this process, a depth of up to 50µm can be achieved.

Material Abrasion

This is a special form of engraving. When a material such as aluminium has been anodised, the laser can be utilised to reveal the different coloured material underneath the coating.

Annealing Colours

The heat of the laser beam and atmospheric oxygen change the colour of the metal. There is no significant material abrasion, the maximum depth of the mark is 5µm.

Colour Changing

Similar to above but with plastics, special additives ensure that a high contrast mark is achieved.

Foaming

Due to the heat of the laser beam, the plastic foams at the point of contact.
